Casey Key
No matter where I go or to whom I speak, the topic of the Sarasota real estate market is very quickly where the conversation heads. Everyone is interested in what is happening in our market and everyone is curious as to what the future holds. I wish I had a crystal ball and could with 100% assurance tell you what will happen on Casey Key in the coming months and years. What I do know is what has happened in the past and where we are at the moment. I also have my own ideas as to what might happen. I’d like to share some of this information and my own perceptions with you.
In the past 12 months there were 17 homes that sold on Casey Key. I have attached the information on each of these homes for you to review. Compared to the prior 12 months, although not as many homes sold, the selling prices enjoyed a significant increase. Here is a comparison of these timeframes. Bear in mind that several very high-priced homes sold and that had a bit of a skewing effect on the averages.

At present there are 43 homes for sale and an additional 4 homes that are under contract. I have included a list of the homes currently on the market in this report. Although homes are taking a bit longer on average to sell in this market, they are selling.
I love Casey Key and am doing my best to help see that it continues to sell at higher and higher prices. My belief is that it will continue to do well. I think that the market in general may stay quite slow for a few more months but, in the fall, provided our hurricane season isn’t too destructive, things will begin to move again at a faster pace.
